Using potion at the table
Browsing a category rather than a single item is most useful when you are stocking something — a shop's shelves, a hoard, or a starting loadout. Seeing the whole potion list at once shows you the price and power spread, which is what tells you whether an item is a reasonable find at the party's tier or an outlier that will stand out. It is also the fastest way to answer the question players actually ask, which is what else is available rather than what does this one do.
What to watch for
