The oozes in the SRD

Running oozes
Oozes are dungeon hazards more than monsters. They are slow, blind, mindless and almost impossible to reason with or intimidate, and several of them destroy equipment, which is the real threat. A party that loses a weapon or a shield to an ooze remembers it far longer than one that takes damage.
What they need from you
The mistake is placing an ooze in an open room, where a slow blind creature is trivially avoided. They need confinement: a corridor, a stairwell, a ceiling. Their immunities also shut down a lot of common tactics, so an ooze encounter is best treated as an obstacle to route around rather than a fight the party is expected to win head-on.
