D&D 5e monsters

The 5e Systems Reference Document includes over 300 creatures: familiar beasts like wolves and bears, undead like skeletons and liches, legendary monsters like ancient dragons and the tarrasque, and everything in between. All appear here with complete stat blocks.

Challenge Rating (CR) estimates how hard a monster is to defeat for a group of four adventurers at the same level. CR 0 is a barely threatening creature; CR 30 is the tarrasque. The XP value on each monster lets you build balanced encounters.

Legendary creatures can spend legendary action points at the end of other creatures's turns, letting them act more frequently. Many also have lair actions that trigger on initiative count 20, independent of their normal turn.

Actions are taken on the monster's turn. Reactions are triggered by specific events (like opportunity attacks). Legendary actions occur at the end of other creatures's turns and cost legendary action points.
